A juvenile male Asian elephant at the CWRC Transit Home in Kokrajhar, BTC. The calf was rescued from a trench in Goalpara Forest Division.
A common palm civet was released in Bogorijuri near Kaziranga. It was rescued from a water tank of a local hotel, in which it was found trapped.
A Himalayan Griffon vulture, injured by people, was rescued by the Assam Forest Department from Nowgaon. It was treated at CWRC and then released in the Bagori Range of Kaziranga NP.
A king vulture was found injured in the Bagori Range of Kaziranga NP by forest staff and admitted to CWRC for treatment. It was subsequently released in the same range.
The IFAW-WTI rescue team attended to a peculiar case of two adult swamp deer with their antlers locked and unable to move, in Kaziranga National Park. They were immobilised and disentangled.
Four jungle cats were found alone in the Dhemaji District of Assam and handed over to the Forest Department. All juvenile males, they are now being nursed at CWRC.
