CWRC, Assam, July 12, 2017: As floodwaters continue to rise, albeit slowly, in Kaziranga National Park, the Mobile Veterinary Service (MVS) teams associated with CWRC have been kept busy responding to emergencies related to displaced wildlife.
Flood-affected Elephant Calf Rescued from Nameri National Park, Brought to CWRC
CWRC, Assam, July 6, 2017: An orphaned male elephant calf, about a year old, was rescued yesterday morning by frontline forest staff in Paleng, a village on the fringes of Nameri National Park in Assam’s Sonitpur district. The calf was brought to CWRC for treatment and long-term care last evening.
Rescued from Floodwaters in Charduar Forest Range, Displaced Elephant Calf Brought to CWRC
CWRC, Assam, July 6, 2017: A male elephant calf, about three months old, was rescued yesterday afternoon by frontline forest staff from the Charduar Forest Range of Assam’s Sonitpur district. The calf was brought to CWRC for treatment and long-term care early this morning.
