This report is a tribute to the true conservation heroes the fishermen whose courage, compassion, and selfless decisions have given the whale sharks along the coast of Kerala, a second chance at life. Time and again, these individuals chose to sacrifice valuable fishing nets, precious time, and economic returns to ensure that an endangered animal returned safely to the sea. Their stories remind us that conservation is not driven solely by policies or institutions, but by ordinary people making extraordinary choices.
