Whale Shark Conservation Project kicks off self documentation scheme

Sutrapada (Gujarat), August 31, 2012: Taking Whale Shark conservation in the state of Gujarat to the next level, a “self documentation scheme” was launched last week to ensure minimum stress to whale sharks by speeding up rescue operations.
Star tortoises back where they belong
Chennai, August 30, 2012: After seven months of intensive rehabilitation, 192 star tortoises were released back to the wild in four locations in the Satyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary, earlier this week.

CWRC at 10: Elephant calf reunited with its mother
Bokakhat (Assam), August 20, 2012: A wild elephant calf trapped in a ditch was reunited with its mother yesterday by the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) team assisting local authorities in Golaghat.
