Munnar boasts of a unique diversity of frogs, some of which are highly endemic. However, increasing anthropogenic pressure has been threatening the survival of these amphibians. Wildlife Trust of India, in partnership with the Kanan Devan Hill Plantation, The Windermere Estates, Blackberry Hills Estates and the Tall Trees Estates, have been working to protect five of such highly threatened species of frogs. We thank the Munnar Wildlife Division, Synchronicity Earth and Stiftung Artenschutz for their support in the project.
